I am looking to construct a family tree. My great grandfather was Jerry Curl who settled in Illinois. Supposedly his family came from Tennessee but no one in my family really knows.

I have heard through others that the Curls oringinally came from Ireland. Four brothers one of whom was a priest settled in Virginia before the Revolutionary War. Does anybody have any info.
