I am a descendent of Henry Clinton Curington, through Grover Cleveland Curington, my grandfather. Two of Grover's children still live, my mother and my uncle. My mother tells me many stories of growing up in Charlie. One story that I found particularly poignant, was that Charlie, TX was devastated by the flu epidemic during WWI. Henry tended to the sick and bought supplies at the General Store to feed those that were too sick to work their farms. Several members of his own family died of that flu.
