Richard,
First there was Thomas. He married Anna. They had 9 children. This we learned from a bible record. The children were Anna, Sarah, Joseph, Elizabeth, Eleanor, Mary, Jane, Thomas, and John.
Joseph had three sons named William Carroll, James Madison and Abner Cemp.
William Carroll and James Madison both had large families and Abner Cemp had four children, Aaron Monroe, Frances Irene, Martha Jane, and Washington Rufus.
Abner Cemp and his wife Mary McClanahan Abbott left Alabama with their son Aaron Monroe and his wife Frances Jane Christenberry and moved to Texas and then to Oklahoma where they lived the rest of their lives. I believe that Abner or Aaron Monroe were cousins to Andrew Jackson Curb. I have records but not handy right now. I read in a census record that Abner owned 3000 acres of land in Perry Co. at one time but have never looked at the land records other than the land that people purchased from the U.S. Government. The Curbs owned lots of land. I would be interested to know why you think that the land that A.J. Curb had was the same as the land that Abner had. Is that from your family or have you looked at land records? Would love to hear what you have learned. Most of us or perhaps all of us researching Curbs do not live in Perry Co. and do not have easy access to the records. You could help us a lot. Please say hello to your Aunt Ruth.

P.S. I know that William Carroll and and James Madison had very large families. I learned something while I was writing this to you. I do not have the Thomas' sorted out.
