Monroeville, was born in Patton Twp., Jan. 6, 1817, a son of ROBERT and SUSANNAH (McELROY) CUNNINGHAM, of Irish and Scotch descent, respectively, the former of whom, a native of Eastern Pa., died here in 1822, at the age of 62 years; he was an elder in the Presbyterian Church, served in the Revolutionary War, and afterward was colonel of militia. WILLIAM McELROY, father of MRS. SUSANNAH CUNNINGHAM, settled very early on the farm where MR. CUNNINGHAM’S father died before the subject of this sketch was 5 1/2 years old, and he has since resided on the farm. In July, 1880, he married CAROLINE R. BOWSER, of Armstrong Co., and one child was born, now deceased. MR. and MRS. CUNNINGHAM are connected with the Presbyterian Church. He is a republican, and has served as township treasurer and justice of the peace. Notify Administrator about this message?
