Hello everyone,
Can you help please, Stephen CUNNIFF,1821 - 1901, married to Rosa (Rose) 1821-1878, with daughter Bridget Born 1848, came to UK from Ireland and first appear in the 1851 Census, living in Back Lane, Wolverhampton with many other individuals from Ireland. They then end up in Cleobury Mortimer, Shropshire, England. 1861 Census.
Sometime around the 1900's the family name becomes CONNIFF.
The original location is always given as Ireland, but in the 1891 Census, when Bridget is married to a Thomas EDWARDS she gives it as Mayo Ireland.
Has anyone any knowledge of this family in Ireland prior to 1851, or any guidance where I can progress next to establish any earlier details.
Regards, Bruce
