Working on the ancestry and descendants of Nicholas Cummins. Here is what I have gathered so far:

1. NICHOLAS2 CUMMINS/COMINS (WILLIAM1 CUMMYNE) was born Abt. 1602 in London, England, and died Abt. 1656 in (York) VA. He married ELLEN ELISON Abt. 1633.

If he die before 21 the land to "my daughter Elizabeth Harrison wife of Robert Harrisons Three children that are now living". Residue of estate to be divided betw wife and son Nicholas. To daughter Elizabeth Harrison and her three children "every one a Gold Ring of Twenty Fower shillings or thereabouts in token of my love towards them". To "the Orphant that I keepe Elizabeth Hooper" a cow calf at Robert Harrison's. This child to be maintained out of the estate till she is of age. Wife, Ellen Comins whole extrx. Wife and son-in-law Robt Harrison overseers of son's estate. Signed Nicholas Comins his N.C. mark. Wit: Robert Harrison his x mark, Jeoffry Moore. Prob 24 Apl 1656 by oaths of Harrison and Moore. "Robert Harrison aged about forty-four years in 1658, died in 1668. His children named in his will were Nicholas, Robert, James, Amadea, Elizabeth and Frances. Robert, the son, was abuilder, and erected the brick prison in Yorktown, and perhaps the Custom House. A deed in 1693 recorded in York County names these Children and states that Amadea (Amy) was married to James Minge of Charles City County, and Frances was married to Thomas Shands of the same county. But Charles City County extended at that time on both sides of James River, and the reference is to Prince George County, which was cut from Charles City County in 1704."

He married SARAH MUTTOON Abt. 1695 in Great Wicomico Parish (Gloucester) VA, daughter of JOHN MATTOONE and SARAH.

Children of ALEXANDER CUMMINS and SARAH MUTTOON are:
i. MALACHI6 CUMMINS, b. Abt. 1695.
6. ii. SIMON CUMMINS, b. Abt. 1700, (Stafford) VA; d. 24 June, 1771, (Farquier) VA.

6. SIMON6 CUMMINS (ALEXANDER5, WILLIAM4, NICHOLAS3, NICHOLAS2 CUMMINS/COMINS, WILLIAM1 CUMMYNE) was born Abt. 1700 in (Stafford) VA, and died 24 June, 1771 in (Farquier) VA. He married ELIZABETH HARRELL.

Notes for SIMON CUMMINS:
On the Fauquier County, VA Tax List for 1759, there is an Alexander Cummins listed as living with Simon Cummins. So his son must have been of taxable age. The next name on the list is Richard Minatt, this would be Sarah's husband Richard Mynatt. This can be seen at http://www.tlc-gen.com/fauquier.htm
