Martha Whitfield married Daniel H. Cummins about 1848 in Jefferson Co. Alabama. Daniel's parents were William & Emily Cummins from NC. The Cummins family moved to AL in 1836 along with children - Mary Ann Cummins Ellard, William M., Emily Cummins Whitfield, Daneil H. and my gr gr grand Willis W. Cummins. In 1853, all but William M (not sure about Emily) moved to Attala Co Mississippi including the parents, William and Emily. Daniel is listed in the 1860 Census for Attala Co, MS but not in the 1870. I do not have much on Daniel and nothing on the Whitfields, however, I will share what I have on the Cummins. Welcome to the family - a very large one at that!!!!
