CUMMINS-LYTLE connection?

Does anyone on this list have any information on a possible family connection between CUMMINS and LYTLE families? My ancestor James Cummins (b. 178090 KY/VA-d. 1850 in IA) named his first born son John Lytle Cummins (b. ca 1812 in OH). Wife's surname was NUTT and I've not seen a connection between her family & the Lytles. Any help here appreciated.
