Kay: I would say you are as confused with your Hugh Cummins as I am with mine! There are Uncles, sons, fathers, etc. named Hugh. Its so hard sorting them out. For awhile I thought perhaps the Hugh Cummins that married Keziah Davis might be mine in a first marriage, but then I wondered what happened to their two children because my Hugh married Nancy Emily Bailis about 1820, judging from the ages of their children. They all show up in Missouri but I haven't been able to follow their trail backwards yet. As for the KY Hugh, here is what I have, besides the 1801 marriage date for he and Keziah. An 1810 Census of Knox Co., KY shows Hugh, between age 26-45 and female (wife?) between age 26-45; and a son and daughter less than 10 years of age. Hugh shows up on the 1799 Early KY Landholders; 1800 tax list (Knox Co) and the 1810 tax list for Knox Co. Where do you find that Susan's father is Hugh? Good luck on sorting out, I'm still working on mine. I think Mary Matthews has found a new lead on ours (refer "James S., father of Hugh Cummins" post.)
Carolyn
