Hi, Ballita: I am late getting into this game, but I do have some information on James Cummins and Lucy Harvey. James was born in Virginia on Oct. 20 1792. He married Lucy Harvey (father Benjamin)on April 7, 1814 in Monroe Co.Va.. He died on May 13, 1868 in Henry Co. In.. His parents were Robert Cummins and Delphia Ballard. Robert was born between 1770 & 1775 ,married on Jan. 19, 1995 in Albemarle Co. Va.and died on Jan. 22, 1841 in Monroe Co. W.Va.(west part of Va. became W.Va.). I found all this from an elderly geneologist in Middletown, In (south of Muncie, In.). I am trying to find a link between this Robert Cummins and a Charles Cummins (brothers?) who both lived in Monroe Co. Va. and their children moved to Henry Co In. and bought land. All my family to date still lives in that area of Indiana. The school distric in Middletown is called Shenendoh School District beause of all the descendants from that valley area of W.Va. I am relying on Geneologist, Mary Catherine Cheek, in Middletown. Hope this helps. Maybe you'll find a common link for both of us! Rick Cummins.
