Do you know what part of MO your gggrf Edward Warren Cummins was born? Have you checked out the Census? I have a page from the 1850 MO Census and I see lots of Cummins and various spellings of that name. I don't see Edward listed but I find a James listed in Henry County and also one listed in St. Louis County; five Williams (Stod?, Lewis, Harrison, Perry and Clay Counties)a Samuel in St. F (not sure what the initial stands for) County. There is a William Cummings in St. Louis County. You might check out the census listings for leads.
