He participated in the Grand Review at Washington and was honorably discharged in that city June l3, l863. He passed through the war without a wound.

He was married to MISS POLLY GRIFFIN October 29, l865. He bought l20 acres of land in Mercer County, Mo., where they lived until l882, when he sold and moved to New Buda Township, Decatur County, Iowa, where he purchased l82 acres of land. In l892 he sold his farm and moved to Davis City where he resided until his death.

To MR. and MRS. MCINTOSH were born eight children: MRS. REBECCA POUSH, of Davis City, JOHN A. MCINTOSH, of Leon, MARTHA A., who died in l898, JAS. F. MCINTOSH, of Waltham, Mass., who cared for his father during his last sickness; MRS. ESTELLA BULLINGTON, of Gooding, Idaha, MRS. LOU ROSS, of Duluth, Minnesota, MRS. MARGARET ASBACH, of Duluth, Minn., and CLARA, of Denver, Colorado, who was home during the last ten days of her father's sickness. At the time of his death there were of his brothers and sisters living in and near Davis City, JOHN D. MCINTOSH, MRS. MARGARET CUMMINS, of Davis City; MRS. BETSEY GOBLE, of Davis City and MATTIE HORN, of Davis City, all present with him at the last.

MR. MCINTOSH was stricken with paralysis near the last of May and since that time has been confined to his home, where he was cared for by kind hands. He passed quietly away Saturday at 6:30 p.m., November ll, l9l6, leaving to mourn his departure his faithful wife, seven children and other relatives and many friends. He reached the age of 72 years, l0 months and 23 days.

He served as township constable for a number of years. He was a member of the Davis City G.A.R. Post with which he had been connected for a number of years. On October 29, l9l5, MR. and MRS. MCINTOSH celebrated their golden wedding.

Thus has passed away the life of another of our fellow citizens, one who was known for his honesty and integrity in his dealings with his fellowmen. The funeral services were conducted at the M.E. Church in Davis City, November l3 at 2 p.m., by Wm. J. Campbell, evangelist of the Church of Christ. The body was interred in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
