I may have a possible connection. My great grandfather Thomas Cummins, was born in 1847 or 48 in either Ohio or Indiana. He was the oldest in his family, and we know of one younger sister Rebecca, born in 1859. Thomas was married to Sarah Edwards 03 Dec. 1868 in Morgan county Indianna. They had eight children. Rebecca married Sarah's brother, Sylvanus Edwards.
In 1902 Thomas (age 53-54), Sarah (age 50) and five of their children came to Alberta, Canada to homestead a 40 acre parcel of land. They were TOUGH!!! Two of their boys moved back to Union Iowa and the others stayed here in Canada.
As for Thomas's sister Rebecca, I beleive they homesteaded in Dundy County, Nebraska around 1886.

Please let me know if you find a reliable connection. I've have been trying to find out who Thomas's parents and other siblings were, but it's been difficult.

Thanks,
Lois
