Lynn, I wish I knew. All I have is a hand written history my Granddad did when he was almost 80 years old. His Dad was supposedly born in Mississippi bit I can find no record of it. In the Sterling County, Texas history book, Robert Benjamin Cummins (who my Granddad said was his uncle) says he was born in Noxubee County, Mississippi, but there is some controversy within the family about his veracity.

By the way, a relative on my Grandmother's side forwarded an email to me that she had gotten from a distant relative in Honey Grove, Texas, about you and Mike searching for 1880 census info on William and Angeline Cummins. I have looked at the census records for Fannin County several times. I do not remember those specific names, but they are not ones I was looking for at the time.
