Hi,
I have been searching for a William Cummins, born 1785 supposedly born Fairfax County, Virginia. However I have run into a brick wall. I have inquired and requested proof of birth and marriage certificates of him with no results. I did however find a christening of a William Cumming in Huntley, Aberdeen, Scotland with the date of December 26, 1785. This record showed Alexander Cuming as father and a Anne Tulloch as mother.
Do you have any information on this line? William is my Great great Grandfather and I have no connection to who he really was or where for sure he was born before 1810. I know that he married a Mary Meyer and they are recorded on the 1810 federal census of Loudoun County, Va. Sometime after that they moved to Ohio and was listed on the Ohio federal census in 1820 and until his death in 1851.
