In Nora Belle Cummins' 1858 book entitled "The History and Genealogy of the Cummins Family: Their Ancestors, Descendants and Experiences" which was published in Seattle WA, we learn that Nathan Cummins immigrated to Beverly Township Upper Canada circa 1818 and was listed there in an assessment roll made in 1827. His wife, Zilpha Howard died there in 1852 aged 76 years. There son, George Washington Cummins, was in Beverly in 1852. Their son, Adin Drake Cummins, emigrated from Beverly to Michigan circa 1841 or 1844. I find no information about their two daughters, Deborah and Artemis.

My Cummins ancestors immigrated to that part of Upper Canada circa 1794 from Sussex (now Warren) County New Jersey. In the genealogy of my ancestors, I do not find mention of Nathan or his family. However I would like to learn more about Nathan's origin. Was there a relationship or was the migration of two families with the same surname to the same area just a coincidence?
Thanks
W. Raymond Cummins
