Hugh CUMMINS and wife Nancy Emily (last name unknown) came from Ky via oxen and wagon before 1830. Settled in Lafayette-Jackson Counties, MO near Oak Grove, MO. Children: James b.c1822 d.1862-3 by KS Red Legs in war, m. Elizabeth Thomas; John Balis b. c1824, m Ruth Corn; Martha "Patsy" b. c1823, m. Martin Corn; Thomas b.c1832; Alcey b 1835, m. Martin Wesley Rider; William b. c 1836; Henry b. c1838.Two other daughters. Need Ky info on family. 3 oldest children may have been born in KY. Maybe Hugh married before to Kezia Davis in 1801?? & had two children by her?? Not sure if same Hugh or not. Can't find him in 1820 Ky census nor Mo. but find him in 1830 MO Census. Based on Census info, Hugh's birth could be between 1780 - 1790. I have found a Duplin Co., N.C. will for a Thomas Cummins who names, among his children, a Hugh. Can't tie any of these yet. Can anyone help??
