I am trying to connect with other decendants of Daniel H. Cummins (1827 AL) and Martha Whitfield (1848 AL).
John Benjamin and Daniel Jackson (my great grandfather)are their sons also and I have info on them to share. I have located John Benjamin's family and we would like to find more cousins out there.
On the 1860 Attala Co.,MS Census this is what I show for Daniel and Martha's children: David 11, Millie 9, William 8, Joe 7, Elizabeth 5 Bartley or Bartly 3 and Serah or Sarah 3. All are shown being born in Alabama AL.
On the 1870 Marshall Co., MS Census they are living with their mother, Martha. This is how they are listed: Joseph 19, William 17, David 15, Elizabeth 14, Bartly or Bartley 12, Daniel 11, Martha 9 and Lucinda 5.
As we all know the Census takers wrote down nicknames, first name or middle names so these names could be a combinations of both.
If any of this might fit into your family I would love to hear from you.
