Sylvia, I should have read your previous post and "Chalkley's Extracts" more closely. You are right; the Robert Cummins who's will is proved in Nov. 1804 does seem to be a good contender as the father of WV Robert 'Robin' Cummins: he was in the right place at the right time (lived 100 miles NE of Monroe County) and had a son named Robert who was born about the right time. Can you think of other evidence that supports or weakens the possibility of this Robert and Margaret Cummins being the parents of the WV Robert born in 1772?
