Please bear with me as this is a long entry. We purchased a box at an auction and in it were stamps and letters. One of the letters was from Leslie Charles of Darlington to Mrs. HD Simpson of Greenville. The enclosure was a newspaper clipping of Mrs. Lewis Boyd Blakeney (Miss Anna Majella Bacot) daughter of Mrs. George Bacot of Conway and a letter from as far as I can tell Mrs. Preston ? Cumming. The letter talks about her daughter Caroline Sale Nelson and her husband who live in Portsmouth Ohio. The lady who wrote the letter is a sister of Anna Gause. She also mentions Anne Bacot and Fredrick Burr and their daughter Anne Cumming Burr. The letter is dated 1929 and has a reply with it from Mrs. HD Simpson signed Lucy and from what I can find this is Lucy Brown Simpson. If anyone would like this letter and I mean a family member that can use it please e-mail me as this letter should be with the family and not with me and I would be happy to send it to the rightful owner.
