Hi Jen,
Since my `first `posting, I have sent for John`s death cert., as follows:-
(this is definitely the right person that I am looking for).
John Reed Cumming b. 1893 -West Derby d. 11.4.1935-Liverpool Royal Infirmary- aged 41 (Peritonitis).
He lived:- 14, Wyvla Road,Liverpool with sister- (Elsie b. 1990/04 - West Derby). He was a Secondary School Master.
It had been rumoured he was a Dr. in Liverpool, but apparently not so. He was engaged to a nursing sister from Liverpool Royal Infirmary, and then Kiln Hey (Private Nursing Home) - my mother in fact.
The only other combination of (Reed & Cumming) that I can find, is a father of a John Reed Cumming (Hugh Lewis Cumming) again with Liverpool connections, but the generation before this takes us to Devon area with a -Hugh Rossiter Cumming.
I cannot see where the Reed comes in with this family - unlike the one you mentioned.`
