I have a Blankenship marrying a Cumby in my Cumby line from Charlotte Co., VA. I have a xeroxed bible sheet, which has the children of Joel H. Blankenship, two of whom married into two of my lines; one marries John H. (or 'J.") Cumby, the other a Smith. Nancy 'P.' Blankenship is on the sheet, ("bornd {sic} Sept. 8, 1820"). Her sisters, Chestinia (also spelled Christinia, "bornd {sic} Nov. 18, 1839",) and Sarah Elizabeth ("bornd {sic} Aug. 25, 1836",) are my ancestors. Would this help you out with Nancy? Sarah E. Blankenship -sister to Nancy- marries John H. (or J.,) Combey (b. 1835,) in Dec. 1856, I believe. The first two children on the sheet are 'Mary" and "Martha", also names of your Richard and Nancy's children. And Sarah Elizabeth pops up in their offspring, too. What do you think? Could Richard and John H. be brothers?
