Hi Helen,
I was beginning to wonder if you were still searching or not. By any chance would your name be Helen Ruth, & your mom be Omie (Stidham-uncertain if that is the correct spelling of the maiden name.) But yes my grandfather did have mental problems but it was because when he was in the war (WW 2 if I am not mistaken, but almost certain) he was shell shocked which when he came home and I was old enough to remember being around him he wasn't all there he always spoke of "The Good Ole Days" back when he was farming & all the stuff he use to do before he went off to the war. But yes I do have info on the family. But if you would like or if you are intrested we can exchange phone numbers if that would be better for you but either way is fine for me. Sorry about all the long sentences but I am excited to have found more of the family. By any chance would you know of a Cemetary called "Valhalla" we were told it was in Bessemer but found out it is actually located in Midfield and that is where some of the CULWELL's are burried. I went to a Cem. by my house "Union Grove" today and found more family names as well as Birth & Death dates I just have to sort through them. Please tell me what you can about the Culwell's that you know of even if it is just names maybe any births or deaths. When I get back from taking my 3 year old to the Dentist tomorrow (1/23/02) I will try to post you more as far as names, births, deaths, children's names or anything that I think could benefit you in anyway. I have my mom talking to a Culwell widow she's in her 60's but she has an impeckable memory. So when I get any new info I will post it for you. I tried to E-mail you but had no luck sorry. By the way thank you so very much for responding. Sorry if there's alot of misspelling's but I am anxious to get this info to you as soon as possible.
