Charles Culver b. ca 1838; where did he go?

i am updating my Moss/Morse family groups and I have a huge mystery. Charles Culver, born ca 1838 in Ohio, married Wealthy/Weltha Moss/Morse ca 1865? the only census in which I find them is 1870 ; they are living in Owosso Twp., Shiawassee, Michigan. Children are: Ida, 4; Henry 3; and Carrie, age 3/12. I cannot find them again on any census; where did they go? Charles was age 32 and "Wealthy" was 28. did the family move out of state?
