I am trying to determine the ancestry of Orriseen Culver (b. abt. 1785 d. 1869) originally in Victor, Ontario, New York and later Michigan. What I have at this point is: Orriseen Culver A veteran of the War of 1812 Appears as Orriseen Culver in 1820 Federal Census Victor, Ontario, New York – married with children (3 boys, I suspect one of which is Orris C. Culver b. abt. 1815 and married to a Rachel, family found in Medina, Lenawee, Michigan in 1850 census) Appears as Orrison Culver in Petitioner List Census of Michigan 1833 Was in Ohio in 1829, New York in 1831 based on children’s birth locations in 1850 census Not sure where he was in 1840 census, probably in another household Appears as Orris Culver in 1850 census Medina, Lenawee, Michigan Orris 64 NY Abigal 51 Mass Stephen 21 Ohio Ann 19 New York Barton 17 Mich Mary 15 Mich Francis M(arion) 12 Mich – my ancestor Appears as Orvis Culver in 1860 census Sparta, Kent, Michigan Orvis 76 Abigal 65 Stephen 32 Barton 27 Appears as Oriseen Culver in Mortality index of 1 June 1870, age 84 (maybe 87 hard to read) died July 1869 Medina, Lenawee, Michigan Abigail Culver died 14 October 1867 age 73 in Lenawee, Michigan, father’s name not listed Any thoughts appreciated.
