I am so excited to have found this forum. I (together with other members of my family) have been researching my Culshaw ancestry for over 10 years now. During the C19, our Culshaws lived in the Farington/ Leyland area of Lancashire, and before that in the Burscough/ Ormskirk area. Earliest known ancestors: John Culshaw and Ellen Hesketh, married in Ormskirk in 1787.

I have been transcribing all the Culshaws/ Kilshaws/ Culcheths in the British Civil Registration indexes. So far I have births, marriages and deaths 1837-1889 and I also have Wills 1877-1946. I would be happy to share my findings with any other Culshaw researchers out there.

Helen Culshaw
