Another interesting piece of information from "Carolina Trees & Branches," January 2002. "From the 'Norfolk and Portsmouth Herald' (including the 'Public Ledger): Died lately in Camden County (N.C.), Mason Culpepper, Esq. This melancholy event was preceded by the death of one wife and his marriage to another - all happening within the compass of six weeks! He lived a disconsolate widower three weeks, and a happy groom three more. Monday, February 13, 1826."
