CULPEPPERS married a number of times into my maternal grandmother's families in Chattahoochee Co, GA--there were quite a few of them. They came through Jones Co, GA, and the History of Chattahoochee Co (N.K. ROGERS) says they came from Savannah, but the censuses show that the early members were born in NC, one in Nash Co, NC. I don't know if there might be a connection, but some of my people scattered down into Stewart Co, so maybe there is. I'd be glad to share the data I have on my branch.
