You'll find a good deal of information on Evan Alexander's ancestors at the CULPEPPER CONNECTIONS! web site: http://gen.culpepper.com. Evan was the son of John Culpepper (b 1765) and Mary Yarbrough. John was the son of Sampson Culpepper (b 1737) and Eleanor Gilbert. Sampson was the son of Joseph Culpepper (b 1698) and Martha. Joseph was the son of Robert Culpepper (b abt 1664) and Sarah. And while the linkage is not proven, there is some evidence to support Robert's lineage back to Thomas Colepeper (b 1170 in England) as well as a different line back to Charlmagne. All the early ancestry data is not yet on the web site. The Culpepper family expert is Lew Griffin (lewgriffin@home.com) and he is providing most of the data for the CULPEPPER CONNECTIONS! site.
