Your Charles Culp is the closest I have found so far, mine was born in 1850 or 51, depending when his birth month was, could they be the same one? Does your census give a birth place for his mother and father? For mine his mother was born in Missouri, his father was born in Arkansas. The 1880 census should give his birthplace and those of his parents, provided he knew where they were born. According to my grandmother her grandmother whose name was Mary was a cherokee indian, don't know her maiden name,this would have been my Charles Culp's mother. The year your Charles married would have been about the right age for mine to have married also. I just don't have that much information yet to connect anything.
