I am also looking for Josiah. My lineage is as follows: Horace Nolan Culp b. 6 Jan 1925---Richard Moses Culp b.29 Aug 1877 --- Richard A.(unsure what A. stands for) b. 28 Feb 1843 --- Josiah Culp.

My only info I have of him is an unconfirmed report that he received Certificate No. 41 or 46 for land in Cherokee Co. Texas. The info I have says he was born in 1819 in either Georgia or Tennesee but most likely Georgia, and married Rachel Eaton. Her first son, my great-great grandfater, Richard A., was born in Illinois, possibly because she was visiting her family in 1843. This may not have helped you, but if I uncover any leads I will write a follow-up. What is your lineage?
