I am having a real difficult time reconciling two families. First, I start with a Helen or Ellen K Baum born Jan 1880 in Kansas who married Levi "Lee" M Sedbruck/Sedbrook. They were married in Arapahoe Co, CO in 1895 and in the 1900 census she said that she had two children and one was living in 1900. Never found that child. They were divorced in 1903. In 1910 I find that Levi is married to an Eva that is born about 1887-1888 and living in Denver. Eva said that she was born in IN with her parents born in Germany. She is living with a sister 10 years older, Bessie or Jessie Ahlstead also with the same birth places. There are two children, Juanita age 3 and Pearl age 1 and 4/12. In 1920, Levi is living in Denver "widowed" with two children, Pearline age 11 and Ruby D age 8. I found Pearl in the CA death index with a birthdate of 1/4/1909 (fits 1910 birth info) and she died in Los Angeles in 1981. Her maiden name was Sedbruck and her mother's maiden is listed as CULP! In 1930 Levi is living alone. I do a first name search and find Ruby D living in 1930 in Haxtun, CO with James F Manifold and Eva and a brother named James M Manifold age 17. Living in that household is a William Culp age 59 who is a brother-in-law. This time Eva's birthplace is Iowa and her parents are born in PA. I found an Iowa newspaper abstract that showed that Eva Culp married James Manifold in March of 1910. In the 1915 census for Iowa is James Manifold, his wife Eva, son Marion (James M) age 2, and Ruby Manifold age 4. So what is going on here? Can anyone prove that Ruby DManifold is NOT Ruby Sedbruck? I am so conflicted here. Does anyone know the story behind this whole thing?
