Believe your John H was married to a Bruton. Supposed to have been married in Goliad. John H was also supposed to be in Donna Ana Co, NM by 1885. He may have left Texas about the same time as the Cornetts and some of the Brutons.
Having a hard time getting information on the Brutons from 1900 back, they don't seen to be on any texas census for the years 1850, 60,70 only your Culp and Wesley Calvin Bruton have been found on the 1880 Texas census. Would appreciate any help or clues on the Bruton Family.
It has been said that a Texas Ranger named Parrott went under cover in the winter of 1876 to photoghraph anyone that was close or had dealings with King Fisher.
