Culp Family Genealogy Forum

Dear Fellow Kolb /Kulp /Culp Researchers: At the present time, I am seeking assistance to try and locate the parental identities of the following member of the KOLB /KULP /CULP family who migrated from (probably Pennsylvania), and subsequently settled in southern Ontario, around the year 1829. Would any fellow cousins have an idea as to whom the forbears (parents) of the following member of our vast KOLB/KULP/CULP family might be? John KULP was born on September 14, 1799 in the U.S. - probably PA (according to early Canadian Census Returns and other records). He migrated to early Upper Canada (now Ontario) around the year 1829 and shortly following his arrival, he purchased two acres of land in Caistor Township, Grimsby Township, Lincoln County, Ontario. He then built a small log-cabin home and set- up a pottery business upon two carefully-chosen acres of heavy clay soil. Following his marriage to a local Grimsby girl, Mary GRIFFIN, they started their family, which consisted of the follow issue; Jacob, Ezra, Margaret, William Henry, Elizabeth Ann, James Alanson, Martha, Sarah, and Frances Matilda. John soon became known, in the Niagara area, as “John Kulp the Potter.” Any thoughts pertaining to the names of John Kulp’s parents and their location and vital statistics would be very much appreciated. I am willing to share information with any interested researchers. Sincerest Best Regards, Cousin Gary. ================== Gary Culp. Niagara Falls, ON CAN ==================
