I know we have no connection to Sgt York but I found an interesting item. Sgt York was b/d Fentress Co., TN. There was an Alvin Cullom on the 1870 Fentress Co., TN, age 20. So the possibility that he was named after this gentleman who would have been 37 years old when Sgt. York was born.
