There was a Michael Cullum who emigrated from Drumlish, County Longford,Ireland to New York City, circa 1855. He was the Marine superintendant of the Pennsylvania Coal company and lived until the age of 82. He died in Jersey City(NJ) Circa 1910. He had several children, most of them priests or nuns. His son Francis had five children of whom one was named John. Francis' son Paul had three children, Paul, Francis and Elizabeth. Francis had 10 children, one of whom,my brother,is named John. John also has a son named John Cullum.

Given the common county in Ireland, it is highly likely that Michael Cullum and John Cullum 1784(whatever that means) are related. There is also a report that Michael Cullum came to the US via Canada (Nova Scotia) Michael Cullum was my great Great grandfatherand the paterfamilias of a rather large family of Cullums in North Jersey( the state not the island).
