Hello Anne Cullen,
I posted a message to you back when I read your message about Stephen Cullen of Flesherton,Grey, Ontario, an immigrant from Fermanagh IRE, whose parents came from Lossiemouth Scotland. My husband, Murray Cullen, is a great-grandson of Stephen Cullen and his second wife Jane Nixon Cullen. Their fourth son, Francis Arthur Hadwin Cullen, b. 1862 was my husband's grandfather. Arthur's son, my father-in-law, Eldon of Duluth, now CA where we live, is 85-- and never knew Stephen of course. I am trying to find more information about Stephen's parents, and another cousin, William Cullen has supplied me with much research done by the Ulster Historical Foundation and the Daly family, who descend from Andrew Cullen (if I have it right). They suggest that the original name of Stephen's father was John Collins, wife Jane (1775-1839). Later the name became Cullen. I would like to share any information that might be of interest to you. I was able to get a photo of Stephen from John Hopkins University, where his grandson, Dr. Thomas Stephen Cullen, son of Rev.Thomas Cullen (Sarah and Stephen's oldest son) was a famous surgeon and groundbreaking gynecologist. I would be happy to send you a copy of Stephen's picture if you don't have it and would like it. Perhaps you already have the Ulster research--if not, let me know.
