Dear Mick,
Hugh was born in Armagh in 1967 and came to Glasgow with his mother Mary-Ann McCann and father James Cullen and sister Alice Cullen.
There were three other siblings James July 31, 1872, Rose September 20, 1873 and Pearce May 5, 1912.
Hugh married Grace McIntyre October 25, 1889 at St Joseph's Church Glasgow. They had a son Pearce who resided at 137 Mathieson Street Glasgow.
Grace died May 24, 1913 at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Hugh died August 2, 1925 and is buried at St Kentigerns Cemetery Glasgow Lair no 3368.
Hugh's Father James was the brother of my GGrandfather Pierce Cullen. All the males in the family were bricklayers and stone masons.
Hugh's Grandfather was also named Hugh and he was born in Armagh in 1810. He died while working on a contract in Glasgow in 1878 (I have his death Cert.) His wife was Mary Ann McGurk and there were five other sons and three daughters. The next generation back is again James Cullen who married Rose Haughey.
My GGrandfather Pierce Cullen married Catherine Corway in Dublin and their Children were my Grandfather William Francis 1893, Maud 1895, Kathleen 1897, Rose may 1899, Pearce 1903 and Sarah Josephine 1906 all born in Dublin.
Your Hugh's sister Alice Cullen was a famous Spey Wife and fortune teller. She married Jeremiah Smyth in Dublin March 3, 1889 and had three children Mammie Hugh and Kitty.
