Subject: Re: CULLEN - Chile Date: Fri, 05 Jun 1998 21:10:07 +0000 From: "Juan R. Cullen" To: Jim Roache I've obtained a detailed story about the Cullens in Argentina. They begun with Domingo Cullen. And like you say, they became a strong political and social influence. In November 1997, I went Buenos Aires and meet Matias Cullen, one of the youngest members of that line. But my line, in South America, begins with my grandfather, Robert Cullen, who arrived Argentina after WW1 (he was fighting in Europe, and when discharged, came to Argentina). After married Lavinia Cox (born in Argentina, Province of Chubut, in the middle of the Welsh Colony living there), and having three children (one of them, my father), they came to Chile. Actually, I'm the first Cullen born in Chile. My father, arrived to Chile at age of 5. He studied here, and when he was eighteen, joined the RAF, and was fighting WW2. About 1948, while serving in Burma (actually Mianmar, or something like this), was discharged, and come back again to Chile. He married, and I was born, in 1951. I'm a General Surgeon, married, and separated, two childrens: Cecilia (16 years old) and Christian (14 years old). I know some of my family story here in South America, but I lost the trail in Ireland. My gr grandfather, Robert Cullen, lived in Dublin. He was Assistant Curator Pathological Museum TCD (Trinity College Dublin). He married Catherine Delaney, and my grandfather was born in Dublin, on February 17th. 1885. I'm looking and searching for my family ancestors in the past century and earlier. Of course I went Ireland a few years ago, and my daughter and son have dual citizenship. Juan R. Cullen
