Hello Barbara,

Which Westport do you mean? I see that your email address is from Canada--did you father emigrate to Canada?

You should be able to get a copy of your father's birth certificate by writing to the PRO in Belfast or GRO in Roscommon, but all that would do is verify the information you know already.

Since Lisburn is in the Belfast area, it's likely that your father's family moved there sometime in the 1800s from a more rural area, probably not too distant.

If you have living brothers or nephews named Cullen, they could do a DNA test and might find connections to Cullen families from Armagh, Tyrone or some other area.
