Cullen Family, Dal Riata & the Picts

I am wondering if there are many Cullen families that have a history of swarthy skin and sometimes males with dark, curly hair. My fmaily comes from the Ulster area (Cavan) and possibly Scotland in earlier times. We have this trait. I've had my DNA tested and it matches closely with the inferred DNA from Colla Uais, the Dal Riata king (Part of Ulster and Scotland) who ruled about 306 A.D. I've read legend that his mother was a Pictish princess, which could explain the swarthy skin and dark curly hair. I've also heard the House of Stuart, which is a direct line of descent from Dal Riata, also had this feature. The Pictish kingdom and the Dal Riata kingdom merged in the 800's AD and this became the Scottish royal house. There is a King Cullen in this lineage circa 966-971.
