My great great grandfather Silas Pope (1820-95) was the son of John Pope, son of Heinrich Bobst (Pope), son of Hans Heinrich Pabst (Pope), son of Abraham Pabst (Pope) (1666-1734). They came to South Carolina from Newton, NC. Could this possibly been your line?
