I am new at Genealogy, but in these last few weeks I'm happy to have found a few records and surnames that I thought I would take a lot longer to find! I've discovered it's VERY useful to have death certificates and birth certificates! Anyway, I've just discovered that my paternal great grandmother was Ann CULL who was married to Henry PRINCE a butcher, from Hampshire. They lived in the Raglan/Beaufort area of Victoria, Australia. My great grandfather, George PRINCE (born c. 1832) their son lived in Victoria for 40 years, so he would have been 16 when he came to Victoria - so using my great granfather's death certificate to estimate when they came to Australia, provided they came with their son, it would have been in around 1848. The Prince's came from Boldre by Lymington, Hampshire. I've got Broomfields in my line too, they came from Ringwood, England. I've also got Riley's but that's too hard at the moment...! I'd like to explore the CULL line - can anyone offer any information? Family history research is very challenging and very rewarding too...! Notify Administrator about this message?
