Virginia Price Culbreth
ABBEVILLE - Virginia "Gin" Price Culbreth, 92, of Abbeville, wife of Howard Culbreth died Friday, August 13, 2010 at her residence.
She was born in Abbeville to the late Walter M. and Lalla Reid Price. Mrs. Culbreth worked with her husband, Howard, and his brother, Earl, at Culbreth Brothers Garage for many years. She was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church and a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Price.
Surviving Mrs. Culbreth is her husband of 68 years of the home; a son, Ronny Culbreth and his wife Diane; her twin sister, Margaret P. McIlwain; two grandchildren, Cristy C. Evans and her husband Scott and Chad Culbreth and his wife Patty; and three great-grandchildren, Brantley Evans, Jeffrey Evans and Weston Culbreth.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Mrs. Gena Cameron with Abbeville Home Related Health Care for the loving care she provided to our mother and to Mrs. Earline Sears, a niece of Mrs. Culbreth, who has also been a wonderful help during this time.
The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 3:30PM on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at New Hope Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. Funeral services will begin at 4:00PM on Sunday in the church sanctuary with the Rev. John Fastenau officiating. Burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery.
The family is at the residence.
Memorial contributions, in memory of Mrs. Culbreth, may be sent to the HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29649 or to New Hope Presbyterian Church, 1484 Hwy 28 Bypass, Abbeville, SC 29620.
