I was wondering if you had found your Mary Culberson yet??? In 1800, the Chatham Co NC census lists James Culberson with 3 daughters, and Andrew with 6+. The Samuel listed should be Andrew's son. The mother of James and Andrew was Mary, assumed to be DUNCAN by many reserchers, and so it is likely that either of them would name a daughter Mary. Andrew died in 1807, and he names a daughter Mary in his will, and he states that she should be raised out of his estate, as in ... she is a young child in 1807. I don't know who the daughters of James could be. He died in 1824, or at least there is a power of attorney to sell his land in 1824, naming seven sons, but no females are mentioned. But then, they were all in Warren Co TN and the land was in Chatham Co NC, being sold to James Jr their bother. I don't know if there were females involved. If they were still in NC, they may have signed the deed itself, as opposed to having needed a power of attorney to sell their share of the land. If your Mary was getting married before 1807, then it would be more likely that she is James' daughter. If you find this connection, I would love to hear about it. I am a descendant of James' youngest son, Jonathan Culbertson who is on the Maruy Co TN census in 1830 with brothers Aaron and Andrew. Then with brother Joseph and a related Josiah in Obion Co TN in 1840. Joseph stays there, d 1860, Josiah goes to Stoddard Co MO and gets called Joseph is some of the records, and Jonathan goes to Massac Co IL. James Jr who bought the land in 1824 was living in Montgomery Co NC at that time. Most Warren Co TN records before 1858 were destroyed in the Civil War. I do not have any resources here to check for further information in Warren Co TN, nor in Chatham Co NC records in 1824 to see if there are further details. I would think that 1824 deed in Chatham Co NC would be revealing. Good luck, Happy to share any info I have collected on James Culberson or other family related to him.
