Hi Sue.
Yes indeed I am related to the CUFF'S of Shapwick,Winterbourne Whitchurch,Hilton & Old
Milton,to which we now know as Milton Abbas.
My gt'grandparents(maternal side),were
Harry Cuff who married Rebecca White both of
Shapwick,Dorset.
You stated that your line extends from
a George Cuff who married Mary Ball Whiffen,
it was William Cuff jnr who acctually married
Mary Ball Whiffen,1847 St Bartholomews Church
Shapwick Dorset.From 1849 to 1870 they had
eleven children,Mary died 09th May 1898 &
William died 12th March 1904.
As to your question as to did the Cuff's
come from Ireland,At this moment in time I am
not 100% sure,but I think it was the other way around,as to the Cuff's leaving Somerset
to settle in Ireland,But I am open to be corrected on this issue.
