Harry, I hope that this message finds you, nearly a year later. I am a desendant of Juan Jose De Cuevas, and since the men in my immediate family are now dead, I find myself using the name De Cuevas for my own personal use for histoical recreation. I am also studying Sephardic Jews in my research and I have been trying very hard to prove that this name was indeed used in the converso's. I went to the Sephardic website that you posted in your first message months ago and was unable to get written proff of this. You say that the name is in the records of the Inquisition, is there any way I can prove that. Is it in writing that I can pay to get a photocopy of for research purposes? I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can give me. I have 2 friends who are fluent in Spanish, so if anything is not translated that is fine as well. I just want a documentable piece of paper to show this really did happen with the name Cuevas or De Cuevas or De La Cuevas. Yours sincerely, Carith Michelle Wiseman gribbit@juno.com Notify Administrator about this message?
