Hi,

I had never had information about the family lines in United States.

The origins of the surmane are in Spain, the city of Santander. The family has a novelty line, according with Archivos de Hidalguia de Valladolid. The official record of the 5,000 surnames related with the royalty or novelty.

But the family moved to Chile in 1530 aprox. The first ancester was Juan de Cuevas (1514-1591)

Then Jorge (George) Cuevas (Marquis of Piedrablanca) was the son of Juana Cuevas. He moved to Europe and married Ms. Rockefeller, that's what i knew about the Cuevas related with the US. The family in Chile has a large history as founders of the republic.

I would like to know what you have, also, I could tell you that is you have information as far as 1,500 you could ask information before this date, to the Archivos de la Real Cancilleria de Valladolid. Also, there is a site http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/Senate/4593/geneal.html with information of Spanish related surnames.

Bye,

Hernan Cuevas
