They founded Cat Island. They had 12 children. The children Raymond Cuevas (Ramon) had James Cuevas who was given cat Island in 1812 by the US Govt.He had Juan Jose de Cuevas by a woman named Eugenie Ladner and Zeno Cuveas I.Jose had a son named Victor Cuveas, he had a daughter, my grandmother named Corrine Cuevas. Her daughter Vercy Cuevas passed away broke, she spent every penny she had on attorneys to reclaim Cat Island.I am a paralegal/researcher and am working on the history of our family.I have Juan Cuevas' and Marie Helene Ladner's parents and their grand parents etc through Spain into France into the 1600's.I got it all from the internet at Ancestry.com.I have the Ladner Odyssey book on order which has the family tree and the history.I also found many articles people had written about our kin in MS and they are being sent to me as I type.Huge family with many branches. Not to confuse you but cousins married back then.I am related to 3 of the Cuevas/Ladner children which makes my family tree blood line quite pure.I am planning a trip to Misssissippi to do more research, I will keep everyone in touch.
