My family is originally from Hattiesburg MS and my grandmother's name was Irma Monet Cuevas. She married Robert Lee Johnson and they had 1 child (Robert C. Johnson my father). We know that we are direct decendents of the Cat Island Cuevas family. We are beinning to research our Cuevas connection and are interested in he Cat Island Legend. I have heard many stories while growing up and most of them are from a period just after the Civil War and to the turn of the century. I would appreciate any infomation that you can share.
